Barr. Festus Keyamo Gives Late Father Befitting Burial

When the news of the demise of Pa. Mattihas Egwarewa Keyamo; father of Barr. Festus Keyamo (SAN), The Minister of State Labour and Employment broke, the legal luminary broke down emotionally like something precious to him vanished into thin air. While his later father was alive, they both shared a filial bond that nobody could break. Their resemblance is super striking as the Junior Keyamo was said to have learnt a whole lot about life from his father who was a leading light, mentor, friend and advisor.

The shocking demise created a lacuna in the life of the Ambrose Ali University graduate of Law as he would miss the fatherly advice, bond and relationship they shared together. In other to immortalize his father even after his demise; thanking him for breeding and nurturing him to the path of greatness in life, The Ughelli Born Senior Advocate of Nigeria SAN spared no cost in making sure his father’s burial was worthwhile as he ensured the whole Delta state was shaken to its very roots on the 23rd of April 2022 in Efurun, Warri. Top dignitaries and political heavyweight in and outside Delta state were on the ground to pay homage to the late man who many said was a community leader whose repertoire of knowledge is second to none.

Regardless of the late patriarch being a Jehovah’s witness, Keyamo ensured he did everything in line with his faith by constructing a mausoleum where the remains of his father was lowered as dignitaries took turns to pay their last respect to the deceased. At the reception party; it was a massive roll call as the former minister of State for Niger Delta ministry feted the whole community to a mega soiree in celebration of the life and times of his late father. Those who attended the ceremony would not forget in a hurry as the memory would linger on in their minds. Those spotted at the event were; Vice President of Nigeria; Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Gambari, Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen, Minister For Transportation Rotimi Ameachi, Nigerian Bar Association President Mr Olumide Akpata, Tonye Cole, Chief Ayiri Emami, and a host of others.

Ogun Firstlady, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun, Living Life For the Sake of Humanity

The first lady of Ogun State Mrs Bamidele Abiodun is not a woman who gives in to media razzmatazz. In fact, she was quietly doing her thing not until her husband; Governor Dapo Abiodun delved into the murky waters of politics. Because of that, she shelved her privacy to become a cynosure of all eyes as first lady of Ogun State.

 

She loathes unnecessary media attention but each time she tries to stay away, the good work she has put out keeps speaking volumes for her. If you have had the opportunity to sit with her, one thing that will get you attracted to her is her fellow feeling toward the downtrodden. She never hides the fact that she does not like anyone around her in distress; she is always ready to find a lasting solution to their problems.

 

Owning to her pedigree being born in a family of academics with her dad as a professor, she is not only brilliant, her composure, poise, sartorial elegance, fashion taste and uncommon aura puts her in a league of her own. When she speaks, you would see the confidence and finesse backed with refined style. During her formative years, the Zoology Graduate from the University of Ibadan has always wanted to keep touching lives via advocacy and philanthropy with a special interest in women and children.

 

So when the opportunity came decades ago, she never ceased to key into the vision she envisaged for herself which earned her an appointment as the United Nations Sustainable Development Champion by the Civil Society Coalition on Sustainable Development (CSCSD). In her capacity as the first lady of Ogun State, she has initiated several life touching programs with a special focus on health, Women Empowerment, social welfare and special needs, education, poverty reduction, sexual and Gender-based Violence. In partnership with Learn Africa Plc, for her undying love for the rejuvenation of reading culture among teenagers, she donated 42,000 books to primary and secondary schools across Ogun State.

 

With her Ajose Foundation, partnering with the Ogun state ministry of rural development and the Ogun state Rural Water sanitation agency are currently working toward providing access to clean and potable water by drilling boreholes across Ogun state in other to wage war against cholera and other communicable diseases which can be caused by the consumption of bad water. They are also working assiduously to ensure open defecation becomes a thing of the past in Ogun by creating toilets at every nook and crannies of the state.

For those just getting to know Mohammed Bello Koko; he has been around for quite a long time as a seasoned finance and economics expert with experience in several strategic portfolios including Banking operations, Credit-Risk Management, Treasury Operations, Retail Banking and Corporate Marketing. With vast experience, he was in charge of the Energy sector and Public Sector, responsible for managing accounts of several multinational oil and Gas companies and maintaining Public sector relationships. He became a shining star in the banking firmament when He joined Zenith International Bank Plc in 2005. While he was in the bank, his growth was astronomic. He climbed the ladder of success from a Branch head, zonal Head Public Sector, Deputy General Manager and Zonal Head. With his robust background in the banking sector and corporate finance, the graduate of management Studies from the Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto was rewarded with an appointment in 2016 by President Muhammadu Buhari as Executive Director of Finance and Administration of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA). Since he assumed as the head honcho of the agency, the growth recorded has been tremendous. The public leadership graduate from Harvard Kennedy School, USA, infused a different touch to the way things are being done which lead to his confirmation by President Buhari on the 15th of February 2022. “Under his watch, he secured leakages in generated revenue which lead to a spike in the growth of the Agency’s Internally Generated Revenue. He also ensured improvement in operational efficiencies that led to a significant increase in container traffic to Onne Port, Warri, Calabar and Rivers port respectively to ease the congestion at the Apapa port.”

Despite his giant strides that are quite evident to all sundry, his detractors are still hell-bent on ensuring they pull him down with negative media reportage by some sections of the media to distract him from functioning at a full capacity. A close source divulged that; Bello Koko is unperturbed and unbothered by the negative misrepresentation his detractors are feeding the public with. It’s quite evident that some people are afraid and envious of his resounding success within the few months he had taken over and turned the fortune of the Agency around. He is currently in Umurah performing lesser Hajj and praying for the growth of the Agency and the country. The First lady of Yobe State; Gumsu Fatima Abacha Mai Mala-Buni is currently experiencing the 7th heaven as her secret prayers are being answered by her creator to her delight. Finding unconditional love in the heart of Governor Mai Mala-Buni; is something she will never take for granted. At every slight opportunity, she always displayed her man on every social media platform, flaunting her wedding band by also referring to him as the source of her happiness.
