DSS vs Sunday Igboho Saga: Oluwo Wades in, Writes President Buhari

I extend my cool, warmest royal greetings to the number one citizen, President Muhammed Buhari. I have the hope your day is as the same as mine. As a Muslim, you are not unaware of the peculiarity of Friday, being one of the days for forgiveness.

Nigerians most especially ardent readers and witnesses of history will not forget in haste many suspicious circumstances that consumed many nationalists. One of the leading and still fresh was the Egba born aristocrat, Moshood Kasimawo Olawale Abiola who died on July 7th, 1998. Ken saro Wiwa equally had his taste. Almost all regions of the Nigerian State have had their taste of such occurrence. The prologue and epilogue were historically preserved to be a lesson. But when a child is a slow learner, the parents will have to guide, guard and educate severally before a stable momentum. Silence of the parents at times may be translated to support but not necessarily. Not all children appreciate their parents at the point of moral discipline. Disciplinarians tell the truth to positively shape the children’s future. But when the child tells you your mouth is smelling, you stay back and observe. However, a responsible father will not throw his child away with the bathwater. I say this to let your Excellency understand the position of most Royal Fathers and stakeholders on agitation for the Yoruba nation. We warned him.

However, Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho earned his popularity as an activist whose joy is to liberate the cheated. He started as such and grew with it. His strategy is not known to me because I’m not in his camp. Whenever I’ve information about his move, I do call him to order. He visited my palace sometime in 2018. I give pieces of advice when sought. Instead of Igboho to distinctively differentiate between agitation towards government and inter groups activism, he failed. At a point, he abused stakeholders with spurious allegations. I was the first on the list for drumming support for one Nigeria. As a father, I’ve personally forgiven him. And I’m personally beseeching your Excellency as the number one citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to demonstrate your magnanimity by forgiven our promising son, Chief Adeyemo Sunday Igboho.

He is a novice in handling issues against the government. He is a gift to us in Yoruba. He has pledged his readiness to listen to us. I appeal to your Excellency to slow down the security trail on Sunday Igboho. I have the assurance adhering to this piece will go a long way in strengthening the unity of Nigeria. I promise your Excellency that Igboho will mind his steps henceforth. He has suffered a lot. He would step down agitations. I will bring him for a peace talk at the appropriate time.

Liberal struggles are won on intelligentsia merit. Arsenals without strategy is a defeated battle. These and many more, I supposed he has learnt and ready to mend his way. Nigeria is an indivisible entity that cannot be tore overnight for whatever reason. let’s forgive to move on and up. The strength is not only in diversity but also in forgiveness.

In conclusion, we have seen the handwriting. When the government speaks different languages, the wise ruminates and take caution. I commend your efforts geared towards combating crimes, checkmating banditry and curtailing criminalities and your vigorous fight against corruption. Most importantly, your commitment to infrastructural growth is unequaled. One Nigeria, great future.

Sesan Adeniji: We Won The Grammy Awards, But What’s Next Nigerian Artistes To Do And Conquer?

It has been months since the news of Burna Boy and Wizkid winning the Grammy Awards, which made both the first homegrown Nigerian artists to win the most coveted prize in world music, the Holy Grail legends before them could not attain. With such massive achievements in the bag, the nagging question now is, what’s next for Naija musicians to do and conquer?

The answer to that specific question will determine if we will dominate the world music scene for a long time or become a flash in the pan. Burna Boy and Wizkid will push the envelope, but they can’t rule forever. I also know that in this country, we have a culture of Me Alone. But the only way we can maintain this recent world recognition/commendation and conquer more territory is to have a concerted effort to seed more talents into the international entertainment market.

Like in football, the earlier a country exposes and exports a stream of young talents into international competition, the earlier they will put together a chunk of experienced players to dominate and reach the finals of countries’ tournaments. Likewise, in the music industry, the earlier we discover and shine enough spotlights on young talents by exporting their music to the world, the earlier we stand a chance to dominate world music.

Nowadays, the music business is more than just musicians, so the narrative should be about exporting the content of Nigerian artists, dancers, models, entertainment writers, music producers, video directors, OAPs, and A&Rs. The more music and music-related content creators we seed, the more we will positively shape our Afrobeats narratives, conquer the music corridors and have corner offices in the world music market.

Princess Toyin Kolade: Unfit As Iyalaje Oodua!

By Wale Ojo-Lanre

Yes. That is an exclamatory opinion, which should not elicit a stone-throwing act from you.

Even at that, I don’t care a hoot about your feeling.

One thing I want everyone to know from the onset of reading this article is the fact that I don’t care whose ox will be gored by this harmless article of mine.

The article is about one Toyin Kolade, who has just being installed as the Iyalaje Oodua, the armorer of wealth, which is the mother of fortune, by the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi, at a lavish ceremony, which has been described as the most glamorous installation ceremony of a single person, in the history of Nigeria.

I care not what you think about me. It is you and your fellow friends who Toyin Kolade spoon feeds that will loath the truth to be said about her. And I am not one. She may be your benefactor, she is not mine and I am not a businessman, so you cannot think I am envying her because of her bludgeoning business empire. So, I have no inhibition or any encumbrances expressing my feelings about her with no iota of sentimentalism

I believe as a pure Yoruba man, with no admixture of any blood of other ethnic tribes in the world. I have the right to express my view on any issue, which concerns Yoruba heritage, culture and tourism.

Hence, nobody should look at me with a melancholic eye as what I am crafting here is to air my view on how and why on earth, that the mantle of one of the foremost traditional titles in the women genre was bestowed on Toyin Kolade, out of all women in Yoruba, home and in the Diaspora?

Though, I know that this article will definitely place me before the fury of many people, particularly, my father the paramount ruler of Akola Ijesa, HRM, Oba Festus Adekunle, who may likely disown me as a Prince of Akola Ijesa, on the point that there is no way an adopted son will behave like a real product of the scrotum of the king.

I also know that I am risking been banned from entering the Palace of the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, who deemed it necessary, fit and proper to exercise his spiritual, traditional and cultural authority to confer one of the most enviable and traditionally important titles of the Head and Controller of Oodualand markets on Chief Mrs Toyin Kolade, a woman of legendary merchandising feat, who by that title has become one of the mothers of the Earth – stimulator of gains, profits, market fortune and merchandising.

But the truth is that the momentous and grand celebration, the publicity stunts, the hullabaloo, the noise and public awareness, plus the deluge of visitors, who witnessed the epic installation of Chief Mrs. Toyin Kolade as the Iyalaje Oodua, were enough to cultivate envy, suspicion and interrogation of why should she be the fellow who has to be shouldered with the enormous responsibility.

Princess Toyin Kolade Iyalaje Oodua

Also, as an Ambassador of Culture, Arts and Tourism, it will be unfair on my part to close my mouth or be passive, whenever some people with foul minds and rabid thoughts are out to desecrate and rubbish the cultural heritage, which our forefathers bequeathed to us and which the Ooni of Ife today is diligently and beautifully showcasing, preserving, protecting, projecting and placing on the front burner of local cultural engagement for this generation and generations unborn.

Ooni Ogunwusi is not just a human being, but an enigmatic divine creature of God, whose head has been spiritually honed by  Olodumare, the Eleda Ohungbogbo, to tend the sacred House of Oduduwa, with precision spirituality and almost infallible decision making traditional process and procedure.

Thus, he is his not expected to install a misfit as the Iyalaje Oodua, the brewer of wealth,  stimulator of commercial bliss, initiator of trade growth and lubricator of business fortune

However, the installation of Toyin Kolade, as the Iyalaje of Oodua has continued to set tongues wagging about the correctness of this particular act by the Ooni of Ife, because that title is not for just for a mere society lady, who indulges in Owambe without a visible means of livelihood, but a title for that woman who prosper where even accomplished business men failed abysmally to thrive.

An Iyalaje of Oodua should be that lady, who must be Yoruba in acts, deeds and thought. A lady of quintessential and impeccable character, who must have not have be found wanting either in private engagement or public dealings and a lady who must have past record of supporting and reinforcing the impressive strides of the Ooni of today, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, at reinvigorating and resuscitating the cultural heritage of the House of Oodua.

An Iyalaje Oodua must not only be solid in business and blessed in native intellegence but also of importance, must be culturally sound, active and proactive, particularly she must have been seen to have identified and continued to be identified as a defender and promoter of the tradition, culture, arts and tourism of Yorubaland.

She must not be a fraud, a social irritant, a recluse, whose names cannot be vouched for or command respect upon mentioning in any responsible gathering.

Princess Toyin Kolade Iyalaje Oodua

Iyalaje Oodua must be that person whose understanding of the cultural heritage of the Yoruba is beyond mere guessing, window dressing and attention-seeking.

The Iyalaje must be a legendary entrepreneur, who has amazing accomplishments in the arts of rural trade, domestic market and intercontinental merchandising.

She must be a woman of unblemished integrity, who is royal in gait, graceful in thought, cultural in perception and vibrant in delivery of an assignment hurled on her by the Ooni of Ife.

She must be a woman who is ever ready and willing to sacrifice her resources, emotion, personality, time and all God-given attributes at resuscitating the wealth, fortune, trade and boost business and commercial activities in Yorubaland.

As Iyalaje signifies the totality of wealth, the fortune of the whole land, which is not localized within the perimeter of the feminist sphere, but of inter-gender, she must be someone who can be an Iyagbogbo – mother of all – both in conduct, interaction, networking and leverage

She must be a lady whose tentacles of friends, width of connection, length of interactive experience and her coast of influence is local, domestic, continental and trans-intercontinental.

Iyalaje Oodua must be that lady whose frame of business must have a relationship with the Sea – the Aje Olokun Asorodayo – and who must act and be seen always in the mold of Olokun Princess.

All these expected behavior, characteristics and prerequisites of an Iyalaje Oodua are testimonies that the title of Iyalaje is an Atari Ajanaku ti ki se eru odomode (a title not just for the lily-livered woman).

It is not a title for the highest bidders or just for the fun of it; but a title for that woman, who is blessed with a supernatural aura of being an enigmatic business soul and who is culturally wired to her tradition, and who can at anytime sacrifice whatever God has blessed her with to spiritually stoke the wealth and fortune spirit for the advancement and development of Yorubaland.

And only a dark idiot, who is blind spiritually and who is a cultural maggot, will disagree with the Ooni of Ife for adhering strictly to the laid down traditional process of appointing and installing Chief Mrs Toyin Kolade as the Iyalaje Oodua.

Having clinically juxtaposed the personality, story, strides, journey, experience and accomplishments of Toyin Kolade with the expectations and characteristics of who should be an Iyalaje Oodua, only a complete daft and congenital moron will say that she is unfit for the title.

And I am sure you are not one of them. I don’t know whether you are?

And if you are not, join me to congratulate a quintessential woman. A spiritual enigma. A wonderful personality, an inter-continental merchant, avid cultural and tourism promoter, and a philanthropist, who is now the Iyalaje Oodua.

My dearest sister,

Gesin nkese ….

Aba re ti gbe ooo

kare re o, Ijesha aponada.

Omo ajogberu, ma jo gbeko

Osohmaloo Ile oodua

Opinion: Thoughts from Apostle Johnson Suleman’s August Diaries

Apostle Johnson Suleman

Offered below are bits from the periodical sketches of popular servant of God, Apostle Johnson Suleman of the Omega Fire Ministries (OFM) worldwide.

They are his thoughts, and prayers, captured in the month of August 2021. They are a sobering and challenging reminder that the Holy Spirit is the true agent of conversion. Those who follow the firebrand cleric will agree that such a presentation is indeed prophetic and needed today so that more of those truly seeking the gospel would be in tune with the Holy Spirit as they read through the visionary thoughts.

“With the steady rise of biblical Christianity in the 20th century, Apostle Suleman is one of those men anointed by God to present their feelings in order to bring the gospel effectively to men and women. In the pastoral ministry, men of God with their thoughts do patiently and wisely help to bring many to find rest and maturity in Jesus Christ. While appraising his thoughts, the reader would agree that, indeed, Apostle Johnson Suleman is a pastor’s pastor and fruit of a lifetime’s care given to the Church.

You must understand the power of words and mental picturing. Without a picture of how you want to live, you’ll end up having life pass you by. You have a consciousness of a future by the reason of a picture of how you see yourself.

You need God to cover you from shame because shame takes away your value and honour. Shame reduces a man to naught.

Ladies and gentlemen, the truth is on our own, no one is able to please God and shame has no respect for age, profession nor expertise but, there is hope for you.

We live in a world where evil is amplified and error authenticated.

A degenerate generation. Absurdity is where the ‘terrestrial dare the celestial. Don’t let haters change you. Your self-validation is stronger than their venom. Love thyself.

When Jacob was to swindle Esau off his blessings, he didn’t go to Isaac with an empty hand. Isaac said, ‘this is the voice of Jacob but the hands of Esau’. Until God hears your voice alongside your impact, your miracle might remain pending.

When your enemies plan, sometimes you may not be able to stop the process of the plan. But God is sure to stop the success of the evil plan. They can organize it but cannot actualize it.

When God covers you from monitoring spirits, your weakness is tucked. The devil is not all-seeing, he needs information to operate. So, you also must play your part in not selling yourself out.

There are people that have made it their assignment to afflict you. Naturally, they aren’t your intention but they’re constantly seeking your attention. But, God has given His Angels the authority to keep you in all your ways.

Ladies and gentlemen, God does not only fight for his own, He hides them from all forms of evil. Our Heavenly Father knows your capacity and what you can withstand. Instead of getting into an attack, God shields you and the attacker cannot find you to afflict.

One major thing a man should pursue in life is honour. No matter the connections or the number of upper-echelon acquaintances you have, if you have no honour you’re worthless. Honour is what every man should crave.

Some people believe you should not relate with the opposite sex. In turn everyone is sin-free which is not entirely false. It is merely not totally true and a half-truth is more dangerous than a lie.

Our birthright in God enables us to rebel against the lie that says; “as God’s creation we are somewhat helpless to certain earthly ills and can be invaded by evil.” Let God be your fortress. But there are levels in the spirit before you can attain such immunity.

Everybody in life needs a prophet. God said;“I myself will call to account anyone who does not listen to my words that the prophet speaks in my name” (Deut. 18:18). If you must live, have your eyes set on your prophet.

The message of Apostle Suleman’s thoughts can be summed up with the command; ‘Guard the deposit of sound doctrine.’ As more readers key into the messages, it is hoped they would result in great testimonies. In conclusion, the ‘Restoration Apostle prays for all in the month of August 2021: “Number 8 significantly represents a new beginning. This 8th month of the year (2021), May God give you a new beginning. The best of your past shall be the least of your future. May heaven give you reasons to laugh and be happy in Jesus name.”
