Despite his entry into the murky waters of Politics; Air Marshall Sadique Baba Abubakar (RTD) has remained a force to reckon with in the Bauch state political landscape. After his meritorious years as a military general and reaching the pinnacle of his career as the chief of air staff, he decided to heed the numerous calls of his people to delve into politics so they can enjoy the dividend of democracy. After months of consultation with stakeholders and top politicians within the state, he finally decided to throw his hat in the ring and contest for the Guber ticket of the All Progressives Congress APC in Bauch state which he eventually won to become the party’s flag bearer. What originally started as a play started to metamorphose like a movement as the acceptance grew like wildfire. The demand for good governance became loud that even the deaf can hear.

 

Based on his antecedent as a fine officer with all the required experience with his highly cerebral prowess and his technical ability wanted to do things differently. He ran his campaign based on issues and went around the nooks and crannies of Bauchi state to feel the pain of the masses. During his consultation and political campaigns, he felt the pain of the people, especially in the area of education, health care delivery, infrastructural development, affordable housing, and agricultural improvement among other things. During his tenure in the military, Sadique supervised the construction of the biggest military hospitals across the country with the world’s best facilities that can render medical assistance to anybody. He also supervised the smooth running of military schools and other so governance will be like a smooth ride for him with his wealth of knowledge in the military. In the cause of the consultation; he vowed to bring succour to his people and his people in turn pledged their unflinching support to unseat the incumbent Governor Bala Mohammed.

 

Despite several allegations raised by the opposition to discredit Abubakar and his campaign team, the love his people have for him began to spread like wildfire as the quest to bring Sadique into power became more intense. Like a man destined for greatness; Sadique in his campaign has crossed the T and dotted the I’s by giving his word in bringing the much-needed change in running an all-inclusive government driven by technology and accountability. He is looking to repeat his magic want in the military to politics as the election beckons tomorrow. With the current political permutations and the recent support of other opposition parties, Sadique we gathered is more than confident that he can uproot the incumbent as he is set to make history politically.

On receiving his certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC; OUK began to chase his long-time ambition of being the senate president of the red chambers. As the 9^thsenate is currently winding up, OUK who is the current senate whip has stayed as a top contender likely to be compensated with the highly coveted position as the number 3 man in the country. All odds are working in his favour as he is a Christian, he is a top member of the ruling party All Progressives Congress APC from the South East region and in other to pacify the region that is constantly seeking to leave Nigeria and float Biafra, the administration is looking to pacify the region with the senate presidency which will give them a sense of belonging and also ensure they have a high stake in governance in the country. OUK is a top contender with his political experience in the executive and as a legislator will come to play.

 

In other to achieve his ambition; the astute businessman has been on the move rallying around politicians from his region and his friends from other regions to support his bid to become senate president. From the recent permutation, he seems the most likely the pendulum swings in his favour. Sources disclosed that he is currently meeting top influential senators, governors and political influencers to seek their support in achieving his long ambition. “His close relationship with the president-elect is also a strong indication that he might likely get the position of Senate President. He is not relying on that only he is going all out to ensure he tidies his own homework so the rest could be a walkover.”

 

Ahead of the March 18,2023 governorship election, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, the candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, in Ogun State is staying true to his vow to unseat the incumbent, Dapo Abiodun. The Remo-born politician has so far stood with the people and refused to jettison his ambition in the face of daunting challenges.

Having started the game long before many others, the hard working politician has put in plenty of work into the project. Today, he remains one of the few candidates who have toured every nook and cranny of the state. This has positioned him ahead of other candidates because he understands where the shoes pinch, and he understands the problem of each and all the communities in Ogun state.

He has proven that he is not an opportunist by refusing to abandon his people even when he was confronted by challenges that would ordinarily swallowed other lily-livered politicians. In the course of his political trajectory he has been able to surmount all the hurdles thrown in his path by his opponents and naysayers.

Another cheery news coming from Ogun state indicates that the internal crisis threatening the chances of Hon. Adebutu may have been finally laid to rest, following the public reconciliation with his political arch-rival, Otunba Segun Showunmi.

As recalled, Showunmi had earlier challenged in the court the party primary that produced Hon. Adebutu.

The foremost politician had always said that he was waiting patiently for the Supreme Court to give judgement on this matter and had always assured his supporters of the eventual victory.

However, all of this was laid to rest last Friday when Hon. Adebutu with his loyalists paid a visit to Hon. Showunmi’s residence at his Ibara, Abeokuta, GRA.

At the well-elaborated welcome party, Otunba Showunmi urged his supporters to sheathe their swords and work for the success of Hon. Adebutu at the March 18 Governorship election.

Showunmi, who was ecstatic, pleaded with his teeming to bury their hatchet and go back to their different polling units to canvass for Hon. Adebutu.

“My people, no more war. I am pleading with you to go back home and work for PDP. This coming election is for what concerns you and I. This coming election is for Hon. Ladi Adebutu. He is friendly and accommodating. Do whatever you can do to ensure PDP emerges, there’s no crisis again.”

Reacting, Hon. Adebutu thanked Sowunmi for the reconciliation and sincerity. He said further that the journey to secure the party’s ticket as the governorship candidate has been tough, explaining that the party just received the 8th Supreme Court Judgment which has paved the way for him to contest the elections.

He, however raised the alarm that moles within have been working against the party to favour the opposition.

The governorship candidate disclosed that number of his loyalists who recently joined forces with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have all along being a burden, adding that their exit is a big relief for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

Adebutu, who expressed optimism of winning the governorship poll, disclosed that the alleged moles used resources of the PDP to garner votes for the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the recently concluded Presidential election

“Some moles within the Peoples Democratic Party, who are pretenders used our resources to work for All Progressives Congress at the just concluded presidential elections. They are burden to us and we try to manage them, offer them financial support every month’, he said.

“Their exit is now a relief for us, and they cannot last more than 90 days. Thank God we know them earlier enough and strike them out. PDP is now free. My mission to become the Governor is to repair the state”, Adebutu emphasized.

The former member of House of Representatives said those who left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join All Progressives Congress (APC), are expired products, that will not last more than 90 days, stressing that their antecedents showed that it’s their habitual characters.

A source revealed that this reconciliation is coming at the right time and this would further boost the chance of the former member of the House of Representatives at the poll in the March 18, 2023 governorship elections.
