Her efforts to empower the less privileged and support the effort of government in every area of endeavour have been acclaimed to be one of the most outstanding among the lots who follow the same passion as hers. Regardless of religion, tribe, or ethnicity, corporate lawyer and philanthropist, Dr Siju Iluyomade has continued to give her all to better the lives of many, using her Arise Women Foundation as a vehicle to intervene in so many areas of human needs. This trait of hers, many agreed, resonated in the birth of the non-government organisation (NGO). Not only that, Siju, as she’s fondly called, is known to have nurtured charitable hopes and determination to help women efficiently thrive in life.

Siju, who clocked 59th on Sunday January 8, said her dream is to make sure Arise affects every part of human life globally in terms of health, housing, education, empowerment, farming and many more. The gorgeous woman added that in the last 15 years, her foundation has achieved so much by putting structures like hospitals, school buildings, computerized libraries, and boreholes in many communities in Abuja, Ondo, Imo, Kebbi and Lagos states to mention a few. Through her hum10anitarian work, she has also branded a food basket called ‘Arise Pink Bucket’ —with contents that include food items like rice, semovita, tomato paste, and groundnut oil— distributed to every local government across Nigeria.

Suring the last Arise Women Conference held on Saturday October 29th at the Trinity Towers, City of David RCCG, Lagos, no fewer than 10,000 were given the Arise food basket that contains varieties of food stuff. The hospital built in Kabusa, a suburb area in Abuja for the less privileged, has continued to give free services for people in the area, with several success stories in operations.

Aig-Imoukhuede’s Return to Access Holdings

Published

Barr. Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede is indeed one of the best brains we have in the investment banking sector with years of experience as a seasoned lawyer. He is a shrewd businessman and also a man who sees fortune in any misfortune. While growing up, he was highly cerebral which led him to bagging a law degree at the University of Benin at the age of 19.

While many of his peers were struggling to find their feet in the corporate world he pitched his tent with the then continental merchant bank during his youth crop year and moved to Guarantee Trust Bank GTB in 1991 when he rose astronomically to the post of an executive director before he resigned and he and his friend pulled the mega acquisition of access bank which he later became the Group Managing Director till his tenure expired in 2013.

As president of the Nigerian Stock Exchange before his retirement in 2017, he played a pivotal role in the growth of the institution which gave financial fair play and also ensured investors get the true value for their investment. While he sits as a board member, chairman and co-chairman of top multi-national companies and also engages in philanthropy through his own Aig-Imoukhuede foundation which serves as a service purpose vehicle to giving back to his immediate environment, he wants to do business and make an impact not until the sudden death of his friend and partner Dr. Herbert Wigwe in a tragic Helicopter crash in the United States of America. While Access Holding announced that he will be acting in a role as the Non-Executive Chairman, Board of Director of the conglomerate; many had thought he was going to assume the role his late friend held while he was alive but Aigboge disclosed that; his interest has over the years tilted as he no longer wants to be the owner and manager but rather assume adversary roles and invest more in philanthropy as he also wants to keep his lifestyle private. He also said he prefers those he has mentored over the years to assume such positions as it will give opportunity for a new breed of managers who would take the baton from him eventually. Sources said he will be officially introduced at the 35th Annual General Meeting of the brand in April as they hope he brings his wealth of experience and his magic wand to sustain the legacies of his friend as they know he is up to the task.

Billionaire Businesswoman, Folorunsho Alakija Takes a Break?

Published

By

Ms Folournsho Alakija, a Forbes-rated billionaire businesswoman, is known as one of the wealthiest black women on earth. Despite this recognition, one thing remains constant in her life – her love for God and her transformation into a full-time minister with her Rose of Sharon ministry.

Through her philanthropic works, she has touched many lives. She prefers to keep her private life separate from business and ministry, and while some may say her life is shrouded in secrecy, it is simply because she values her privacy and wants to protect her space. Recently, news of her divorce from her husband; Modupe Alakija of over 30 years came as a shock to many.

As a minister, many believed she would try to protect her home from whatever issue that degenerated into divorce, especially as the Bible opposes divorce and advocates forgiveness, tolerance, and marriage as an institution. While some say she is not practicing what she has often preached to young women who look up to her, others have applauded her for being firm in her decision to walk out of a union that allegedly put her on the spot and in the media for negative reasons.

According to sources, the issues between them are connected to some matters that cannot be printed in the media. Over the years, Madam Folorunsho has prayed and fasted so her husband can change for the better, but instead of change, it became worse. To protect her sanity and keep her life private, the best thing was to take a break from the union. Despite both parties still having joint interests and stakes in many business pies, she does not mind what the divorce will bring her. Therefore, calling it quits is not related to religious morals. It is simply a decision she made in her best interest to avert the worst future occurrence.

Alhaji Wasiu Omo Gbolahan Olasunkami Adewale Ayinde is a man of destiny, focused and passionate about what he wants.

Or, what do you call a man, who rose from the streets of Isale Eko chasing his dreams to be a musician highly insipired by Islamic beliefs before trying out as an actor and then going back fully to Fuji, a genre of music that has blessed him and vice-versa.

Over the years, the princely singer from the Fidipote family has remained focused with his eyes firm on the crystal balls.

Despite his royal status, the Ijebu people, humanity, building bridges and indeed the entertainment industry have been the better for it as he remains one of the biggest act from Africa as at today.

KWAM 1 or K1- de Ultimate as many love to call him, loves his root – the Yoruba people – and undoubtedly, he loves his Ijebu root more and that’s why he has moved back home for about a decade.

Since moving back to Ijebu, he has established businesses and continues helping the development of the land.

Little wonder, the Awujale of Ijebuland, the highly respected Monarch, sees KWAM 1’s efforts and contribution to the growth of the revered Ijebuland and decided to reward him by bestowing upon him the important title of Olori Omo Oba – a position formerly occupied by banking doyen Otunba Subomi Balogun until his demise.

Alhaji Wasiu is 67 today in good health and we pray his tenure is peaceful and brings progress.

Long May you live Olori Omo Oba

Long May you live Awujale

Long May Ijebu prosper
