THE AFRICA QUALITY ACADEMY HOSTS AFRICA QUALITY WEEK 2023

Africa Quality Week 2023, an event with series of activities aimed at creating awareness on the role and influence of Quality Management to Organizations, Nations and Individuals is set to hold in Lagos.

As part of celebrating World Quality Week, The Africa Quality Academy,⁸7 will be organizing the Africa Quality Week 2023, themed: Quality : “Realizing Your Competitive Potential ” which will take place at the Muson Centre, Lagos state from 27th-30th, November.

AQW is a campaign that raises management profession and focus on the theme of realizing your Competitive Potentials.

Activities for the week includes: THE MAIN CONFERENCE, WALK 4 QUALITY ROAD SHOW, CONFERMENT OF HONORARY FELLOWSHIP, AFRICA QUALITY WEEK EXHIBITION AND AFRICA QUALITY EXCELLENCE AWARDS.

At the Africa Quality Week 2023, the Africa Quality Academy will be using the platform to Confer Honorary Fellowship to persons who have contributed to the development of Quality Products and Services in their Organizations.

The Africa Quality Excellence Awards 2023 is aimed at celebrating Excellence if Quality Products and Services in Africa. The Award recognizes Quality circles, leaders contributions and top performing business, who are dedicated to Quality innovation in order to encourage spirit of diligence, challenges and credibility of organizations.

The Africa Quality Academy is established to provide vital professional stimulus for the development of Quality Management as a Profession in our beloved country. It will be a platform for exchange of knowledge and information in the area of Quality, Environmental Health and Safety Management.

NAS Abeokuta Chapter Strongly Condemns Tragic Killing of Director of Finance, Calls for Swift Justice

The National Association of Seadogs, NAS Abeokuta Chapter has expressed profound dismay over the shocking killing of Mr Taiwo Oyekanmi, the Director of Finance and Account attached to the office of Governor Dapo Abiodun, at Oke Mosan, Abeokuta.

The NAS received reports indicating that Mr Oyekanmi lost his life tragically on the NNPC bridge near Kuto, Abeokuta, while returning to his office from Fidelity Bank, where he had gone for a routine withdrawal.

In response to this, yet another scary incident in the macabre series of murders that have over the years dumbfounded the population, NAS has issued a strong condemnation, fiercely denouncing the act. The association is calling on both the government and security institutions to take swift and decisive action to unravel the circumstances surrounding Mr Oyekanmi’s killing.

In a statement signed by the Capoon, Prince Olubiyi Adegbenga, the group expressed deep condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the deceased and stressed the need for heightened security measures to safeguard the lives of citizens to prevent further losses of lives.

NAS emphasized the urgency of obtaining justice for the grieving family, urging authorities to address the root cause of such social menace to prevent recurrence. “We demand for a thorough investigation to ensure that those responsible for this heinous act are apprehended and brought to justice, serving as a deterrent to others.”

“A decisive and thorough investigation becomes pertinent because of the obvious but unswered questions raised by the circumstance of the death of this strategic officer.”

“NAS can not come to terms with the fact that the State Government is transacting with and moving such a large amount a hundred million naira plus in CASH while the government harps on cashless policy.”

The organisation also raised suspicion of a foul play on the fact that only the director of finance was killed in the incident.

Therefore, as an organisation with a firm root in justice we hereby join the bereaved family in calling for a thorough probe and justice to bring the criminals behind the cruelty to book as the community mourns the loss of a dedicated public servant.

ERELU OKIN, APPOINTED AS NILOVW LAGOS STATE CHAIRPERSON

Chief Pearl Ogbulu the Erelu Okin of Orile-Kemta has been appointed as League of Women Voters in Lagos State Chairperson. The 1996 organisers founded by Dame Esther Udehi at the end of the fourth world conference on women in Beijing China. Erelu Okin was bestowed the honour for her immense contribution to the Just concluded general election in March 2023.

 

While accepting the honour bestowed on her; she disclosed that; she is ready to galvanize more women into active politics and also champion the cause for women to play a prominent role in policy making and government affairs in the country. She also promised to work with all relevant stakeholders in ensuring women are given the chance to play a pivotal role in coming election also assume their role as nation builders.

Idara Michael was recognized twice as the Most Outstanding Local Organization President, emphasizing her exemplary leadership guiding JCI Lagos Coral to greater heights. The organization was also lauded twice as the Most Outstanding Local Organization, reinforcing its holistic approach to community development.
