Ask Billionaire Folorounsho Alakija one of the best things that have ever happened to her, her wealth will never be mentioned. She is a believer that all she acquired on earth is made possible by her creator but her ability to dedicate the rest of her life to the work of God would be one of the best things that have ever happened to her. She has replicated her magic wand in business in her ministry as her Rose of Sharon Ministry is gradually moving to an enviable height winning souls to the kingdom of God.

 

The billionaire oil and fashion mogul rated by Forbes as the richest woman in Africa with a business empire worth billions of dollars is indeed elated as she approached the 7th floor celebrating her 70th birthday on mother earth, she is super excited that at a time when most of her peers never saw age 70, but allowing her to see that age in good health and wealth is indeed a testimony worth sharing. In appreciation for God’s blessing on her life, on the 12th of July, she converged friends, family and loved ones at Wheat Bakers Hotel, Ikoyi where she launched 5 books she authored. Her Autobiography Sequel- Blossoming With The Hands That Gives The Rose; the rest are Christian books; A Lamp Unto My Feet (100 Days of Heavenly Manna), Answers To Marital Hiccups, Mysteries Of Marriage Revealed and The Master Key (Power of Prayers).

At the private lunch event, Apostle Alakija sauntered in a very modest kneel long colorful free-flowing gown with her black and white patterned signature hat wearing a charming smile to welcome her guests. She had a question and answer segment with Onyeka Onwenu, Mrs. Ibukun Awosika, Pastor JT Kalejaiye, Piece Hyde and Summy Smart Francis who read the book and review it and also asked some questions where she further shed more light. After officially launching the book, she proceeded to cut her birthday cake which is a replica of her autobiography.

Herbert Wigwe, Emefiele honoured with Juris Law Award for outstanding contributions in finance sector

The Chairman, Body of Bank CEOs and Group Managing Director of Access Bank PLC, Herbert Wigwe, has been recognised for his outstanding contributions to Corporate Governance and Rule of Law in Nigeria’s Banking Industry. Wigwe was presented the Juris Law Award by Chief Justice of Nigeria, Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad at the 2021 Judges Workshop on Banks and Other Financial Institutions Act (BOFIA) 2020 which held on Tuesday, 12 October 2021 in Abuja.

 

Also honoured with an award was the Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele. The Juris Law Award is presented in honour of leaders who are taking significant steps towards promoting economic growth in Nigeria through deepening institutions, corporate governance and Rule of Law.

 

Accepting the award, Wigwe stated that he was honoured to receive the award, adding that “through innovative banking initiatives and our underlying sustainability drive, Access Bank will continue to create shared value for all our stakeholders, striking a balance between competitive advantage and corporate social responsibility.”

 

Wigwe and Emefiele have partnered in the creation of several positive socio-economic initiatives such as the Creative Industries and Financing Initiative; a loan scheme developed to provide access to long-term and low-interest financing for entrepreneurs in Nigeria. In addition, Wigwe, Emefiele and Aliko Dangote were key parties in the formation of the Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID) – a vehicle created to spearhead corporate Nigeria’s support for the federal government’s fight against the deadly virus. The successful coalition funded the establishment of response centres,  acquisition of medical equipment, supplies and food palliatives for vulnerable Nigerians.

 

The 2021 Judges Workshop on Banks and Other Financial Institutions Act (BOFIA) 2020 focused on reforms and the statutory requirements imposed by CBN on all banks and other financial institutions in Nigeria to adopt policies on anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism and cyber security in Nigeria.

 

Also in attendance of the workshop were the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice (AGF); Abubakar Malami (SAN); the Appeal Court President, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensen; the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Tsoho; the Former Chief Justice of Nigeria and former Chairman, Board of Governors, National Judicial Institute, Hon. Justice Mahmud Mohammed and other high-ranking judicial officers and the legal community.

Top fashion entrepreneur and boss of AB Rollings Clothiers, Abiodun Odukoya, is a man full of pragmatic ideas and beautiful dreams. At the dawn of his career as a fashion designer, one of his dreams is to rule the world of fashion and also inspire budding clothiers. By Providence,  the high-flying man is can be said to be living his dream, as he has spread his tentacles far and beyond.  

Popularly known as “Father” is a Fashion Entrepreneur, even though some affectionately dub him a fashion designer cum aficionado. As the fashion entrepreneur bid Obi Cubana farewell at his London stores, he could not but appreciate that Obi Cubana, one of Africa’s finest sought out and found AB Rollings in London.
It is noteworthy that Obi Cubana has a Nigerian as his personal clothier/designer which invariably means he patronizes local content although in faraway London.
AB Rolling Clothiers also have on the clientele base noteworthy Nigerians especially entertainers and businessmen who like their attires customized.

It was gathered that the Ogun State in all his dealings, comes across as a perfectionist.  Also, in the eyes of many, he is a restless soul, who is always in quest of knowledge to make him stand out in his chosen profession. It was disclosed that he recently opened his new fashion shops in Paris, known as home of fashion as well as well as Istanbul in  Turkey.
