Following the Yoruba Parlance which aptly states that; ‘Eni ti Olorun Gbe ga, ‘Eniyan Kan Kan ole jawa Ile’; with a translation; ‘Any man God has raised high, no man can bring down’. The above quote aptly captures the immense grace following David Adeleke; popularly know as Davido within the entertainment industry. His sojourn in music and limelite is divine. Richly blessed with Grace like that of the proverbial child born under the lucky star.

In an attempt of moving forward, we make recourse to history. Every man is a product of history. Like many will ascertain that; all the height he attained in his chosen career, was tied to his (Marxist Context) bourgeoisie background. To an extent that statement might be right but on the other hand, it looks like a fallacy with no iota of truth in it. It’s not David’s fault that he was born into a wealth family. Perhaps, destiny took him into the family of Chief Adedeji and Vero Adeleke over two and half decades ago.

When he was born, those who paid much attention would have sensed that a star was born. A child that was going to be a blessing to his generation. A child that will place the ‘Adeleke’ name on the world map as it was previously done by his grandfather, Senator Ayoola Adeleke, who was a Senator in the second republic as well as his father and Uncle’s, who are seasoned businessman and lawmakers respectively. From all indication, the Adeleke family is an aristocratic family. The family holds a high position in Ede, Osun State, with a track record of constant philanthropic gestures. Perhaps, that’s why giving generously has been a culture, David has lived with all his life. Those close to him avered that; ‘He loathes the sight of those around him in distress, he is always ready to help’, that further clears the doubt on his generosity.

He is indeed a target of envy, most especially, with the height he has attained in life. Many think it’s just by booking a studio session and singing that makes a good song, the young man was born to do music, so his winning formular is unknown to many even to himself. That’s why grace has always followed him every where he goes. Carting several music awards both locally and internationally, he is always ready to learn new things. He is not afriad to fail. That’s why he keeps improving at every slightest opportunity. He experiment a lot with new sounds, so getting a hit song will likely not be an herculean task for him. Just like his name David; drawing the grace of the biblical David, who is close to God’s heart, Davido indeed holds a special place in the heart of those he has pulled up.

Many often say his weakness is having too many people around him, which breeds psychopaths and other bunch of unloyal individual. Davido remains unperturbed. Despite suffering several heartbreaks from those he feeds and clothes, he still does not get tired drawing people closer. Infact the more the heart break, the closer he brings people around him. Under his record label imprint, he has raised superstar that are also on the verge of raising super stars. He is passionate about raising giants, therefore, giving those around him free hand to run things and grow as well in business and entertainment.

If you wonder why despite all attempt to pull him down, he keep resurfacing with much fire power like the proverbial ram during a fight, it’s nothing else but his constant dealing with a pure heart of gold is responsible for it. He is not a saint, but he has done more good than bad in his entire life.

With close to a decade hold in the Nigerian Entertainment industry, since 2012 breaking out with his monster his ‘DamiDuro’, among other numerous hit tracks to his credit, he is still constantly dominated billboards across the world. He would be celebrating his 28th birthday on the 21st of November 2020. With fanfare or not, his 28th birthday is a clear indication that; he is gradually coming off age, taking responsibility of his actions most expecially his family. Lately he has tried to stay off scandal unlike when he was pretty much younger. He is now in control of the fame. Despite losing his close friends Tagbo, DJ Olu and Chime few years back, being alive today is a clear indication that; he is indeed a child after God’s heart. Like Professor Femi Osofisan aptly captured in his work of art; ‘Birthday are not for dying’, Yes, birthday are not for the dead. It’s indeed a moment for David to recount on things that has happened in the past and possibly make amends. It’s a time to reflect on redolent memories of what the future holds and how to maintain his humanitarian goodwill.

Davido is greatestness personified. What is playing out is just a clear indication that no matter how much you fight destiny, it will always play its own role. Hating on God’s chosen is like fighting with God. Its definitely going to be an effort in futility. For Davido’s case, who God has blessed; let no man curse.
