Former PDP Chairman Iyorchia Ayu’s Daughter Set To Tie Nuptial Knot

Erstwhile Senate President and Peoples Democratic Party PDP Chairman; Iyorchia Ayu has been a political giant since his foray into the murky waters of politics over four decades ago. He has maintained his high-flying political career for years as a senator, and minister under General Sanni Abacha and President Olusegun Obasanjo before his unceremonious exit as chairman of PDP earlier this year. The Gboko Benue-born politician and academician held sway as chairman of the PDP but was forced to leave as Chairman after several outcrys by the integrity group led by former Governor of Rivers State and now Minister of the Federal Capital Territory FCT Barr. Nyesome Wike over his partisanship during the PDP presidential primaries where he labelled Senator Waziri Aminu Tambuwal the Hero of the convention that produced Atiku Abubakar as the PDP presidential Flag bearers also amidst several allegations of financial mismanagement among others.

Amidst several calls for his resignation, the PDP lost the election which was a yardstick for his resignation as he was suspended from his ward level which automatically made him relinquish his position as chairman before an interim caretaker committee was appointed to keep affairs of the party running. Away from his political sojourn, the third republic senate president has since recoiled into his shell; keeping away from politics to face other personal stuff. On the 9th of January, the former minister of Internal Affairs is set to give out the hand of his daughter Wanger Mbalumun in marriage traditionally to Oluwagbotemi Olugbenga. Also on the 13th of January 2024, a white wedding will be held in Abuja with a massive reception where he will play host to serving governors, former governors, political gladiators, captains of industries and top socialites. Sources say he has sent invitations to all his friends in and outside his party and they are in top gear to come out and support him and also share in his pot full of joy. This will be his first event after celebrating his 70th birthday last year.
