For Mrs. Victoria Samson, one thing that drives her since her sojourn in the oil and gas business over three decades ago is building a reputable business conglomerate is based on trust standing out from the crowd. Thriving excellently in a male-dominated industry is not a new thing for her because she has set out for greatness more reason she was able to crest her name in gold positioning Bovas oil and gas as peoples oriented company saddled with the interest of the common man.

The sojourn started for her in 1980, as a dealer under Texaco Nigeria Ltd, now MRS Plc, winning the most priced Texaco Plc Best Dealer Award in sales, marketing innovativeness among others for the Latin American/West African Region. Shortly, an indigenous independent petroleum marketing company was birthed, and christened BOVAS group which is today regarded as one of the most proactive oil and gas entities in Nigeria.

Due to her managerial dexterity, ingenuity and hard work, BOVAS opened her first service station in Osogbo, the capital city of Osun State Nigeria in 1991 with a view of assisting the government in bringing petroleum products to the doorstep of all sundry. The Company now operates service stations across the country and has several more under various stages of construction, which are to be delivered at intervals. Maintaining rhythmic progress, a Liquefied Petroleum Gas Plant LPG was added to the group’s products in 1995, mainly to cater to the domestic gas customers in the southwestern part of the country.

The LPG plant, which was situated at Jegede Bus Stop, Akanran Road, Ibadan, Oyo State commenced operations also in 1995. Its supplies LPG directly to homes and other major domestic users of LPG and also provides refilling services. The company has also introduced innovative LPG Auto Skid Units at selected service stations and locations across the nation.

During the current scarcity of PMS products in the country with some gas stations hoarding petroleum products creating artificial scarcity across the country, many have lauded Mrs. Samson for standing for the masses in making sure all their gas station dispense fuel and the same pomp prices nationwide. A source said; “ When some filling stations are using the current situation to exploit the masses by jacking up their pomp price, Bovas maintained the normal pomp price and have never hoarded their product. This is not the first time Bovas would come to the rescue in hard times like this. Today, Bovas has remained a friendly and masses-oriented brand by ensuring that all pomps are checked without tampering. Anytime there is a reduction in Pomp prices in Nigeria Bovas are always the first to effect it. This is a reflection of the mission and vision of the management headed by Mrs. Victoria who has ensured that they must be there to service their numerous customers. “
