IBEDC makes U-turn, Settles Amicably With Oyo State Government Over Sealing of Office

After the controversial report making the round over the week as Oyo State Government sealed offices of Ibadan Electric Distribution Company IBEDC over nonpayment of tax which IBEDC released a statement stating that; Oyo State Government is owing them over 450Million Naira in backlogs for supply to the government house. After much back and forth on the said issues which generated controversy among Nigerians, the duo has finally decided to sheat their swords and settle in the interest of the people of Oyo state to enable them to get connected back to the power network to avoid total blackout in the state. 

 

The management of IBEDC disclosed the latest development via a release to newsmen which reads; “This is to notify the general public that the Oyo State Government and Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) Plc have resolved and agreed to work together in the interest of the public.
The general public is hereby assured of restoration of electricity supply as soon as possible while the two parties shall continue amicable resolution of the issues in the interest of the public, including working together to make electricity meters available for residents of the state.”
