LASAA MD, Prince Adedamola Docemo Under fire, over illegal employment of 92 staffs into agency through backdoor

Managing Director of Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA), Adedamola Docemo is currently biting more than he can chew as the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has threatened to relieve him of his job after employing 92 workers through the backdoor without following due process.

According to sources, Governor Sanwoolu is very angry at the development, questioning his reasons for employing staffs without the knowledge of the HOS Hakeem Muri-Okunola or carrying him along as the Governor. Most expecially, at a time when state revenue has dropped drastically due to the current pandemic. Employing staff at this time, when most state are downsizing their workforce further got Sanwoolu infuriated. He immediately 

ordered that the 92 workers be relieve of their jobs with immediate effect.

Docemo In a serious dilemma, reluctantly issued a letter of employment suspension from the agency as he claimed that, their employment would be reviewed and ratified according to Lagos Employment law in due time. On receiving the letter, some of them threatening to drag the agency before the court, claiming their employment cannot be cancelled as they were duly employed into the agency by Docemo. 

Source to the Lagos Governor averred that; Sanwo-Olu threatened to replace Docemo if he does not retrace his steps and work according to the vision of the government as no form of mediocrity will be allowed to thrive in this administration. “For over a year as MD, his tenure is currently being rated high for incompetence and misuse of office. In other to make him sit tight, Mr Governor order his suspension but some top political chieftain waded into the issue, as they pleaded on his behalf which made Mr Governor pardon him by giving him a lifeline. At this time when most Governors are reshuffling their cabinets, Mr Governor would not hesitate to sack him if he fails to act the right way.”

Prince Adedamola Adekunjo Docemo is an accomplished professional with over 15 years of experience in outdoor advertising, media, telecommunications and engineering sectors. Until his appointment, he was the Chief Executive Officer of Viadotech Limited, a leading player in the outdoor advertising sector, telecommunications and engineering sectors in Nigeria. Some of the organisations he has worked in include Bell and Bell Telecommunications Limited, Private Networks Nigeria Limited and Emotion Advertising Limited. An alumnus of Yaba College of Technology Lagos and graduate of Mechanical Engineering with a Postgraduate Diploma from the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Oyo State, Prince Adedamola Docemo is a member of the Project Management Institute and the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON).
