At her youthful days, Chinyere Ngonadi known as Big Chi, was a renowned socialite of the highest echelon. Her fashion acumen and her gracious gait laced with her cosmopolitan finesse nature, catches the fancy of many. Any social function she saunters into, paparazzi camera would shutter to catch a glimpse of her. To her close friends and associate, her death is still regarded a shocking one.
Sources said, she was in the United States of America, Atlanta, Georgia to visit her children and grandchildren when she complained of some strange pain. She was immediately rushed to the hospital where she eventually bid farewell to mother earth on the 27th of October. Close sources averred that; she must have died because of heart failure.
Just a month prior to her death, the Ojoto, Idemili South, Anambra State born socialite had a double celebration. She celebrated her birthday and her 40th wedding anniversary, too her 71-year-old hubby, Sir Okechukwu Nelson Ngonadi Aldo.
The former Deputy Comptroller of Customs before retiring in 2012, served at Tincan, Apapa and later transferred to Calabar. She was a part of the A-class of the movers and shakers of the social establishment with her close ally’s like; Olori Ladun Sijuwade- the dazzling wife of the late Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade Olubuse, Senator Daisy Danjuma, wife of the billionaire retired Military General, Gen. Theophilus Danjuma, a former adviser to a Nigerian President-Senator Florence Ita-Giwa, fabric merchant extraordinaire Lady Ngozi Nkoloenyi, renowned architect Princess Fifi Ejindu just to mention a few.
THE WILL gathered that; her body has been moved to Nigeria for her final journey to mother earth. ‘In Lagos, on Thursday 3rd of December, Service of Songs & Evening of tributes will be held in her memory. On Friday 4th of December 2020, Commendation Service will also take place at her residence in Lagos. The following week, at her hometown in Ojoto Anambra state, Service of Songs will hold on Thursday, 10th of December 10, 2020. Her Funeral Service/Interment will commence immediately on Friday 11th of December at her country home. On Sunday 13th of December, outing Service for the deceased family will hold at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Ojoto, Anambra State.’’
