Senator Bala Muhammad, Executive Governor of Bauchi State is currently experiencing the proverbial 7th heaven typical of a woman who just got delivered of a baby. He is so happy and elated to a point that if you ride a horse in his tummy, the house will never stumble. The reason is not far-fetched his daughters made him a proud father.
In a month, he handed 2 of his beautiful daughter Zara and Hauwa out for marriage. The joy of every parent is to walk their children down the aisle. For the former Minister of FCT, witnessing such a big day is a dream come true. Last week, her daughter Dr. Ummita Hauwa Bala-Muhammad officially tied nuptial knot with her long-time beau Muhammad Lawal.
The over 5 days wedding ceremony was officially kick-started with a polo tournament, a pyjamas party, traditional Kamu, Henna Party and a reception party. The reception party was grand as Governor of Oyo state Engineer Seyi Makinde was the father of the day. Also in attendance were former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and other Peoples democratic party chieftains. It was a show of grandeur as the elated father of the bride spared no cost to make the wedding ceremony memorable. The bride was also turbaned with a traditional title as the Zinariyar Sarauniyar Bauchi. The most emotional was when the bride’s sister; Zara Bala Mohammed Sherrif was giving her speech; she resonated on redolent memories of the past during their formative years together as she made jokes of beautiful memories they both share as sisters among other beautiful words of admonition.
Sources disclosed that; Governor Bala is in a very elated mood. “Giving 2 of your daughters who have excellent careers out in marriage within a month is not an easy thing but it’s quite impressive that they both made their parents proud. In Hausa culture, it’s a thing of pride that your daughter is properly married off to her husband. Zara married Malah Sherrif a few weeks ago and now Dr. Hauwa also married her longtime fiancé Mohammed Lawal. It’s something to be proud of as a parent that your children didn’t deviate from the teachings of the holy book.”
