30th of April to most people means nothing, but mention it to the 15th Aree Ona Kakanfo, Otunba Ganiu Adams; then its a day he was conceived 48 years ago in Ondo State, Arigidi-Akoko South-West Nigeria. Every 30th of April is a day Aare Gani reflects on some redolent memories, how he started from the scratch to attaining the highest title in Yoruba race which is the generalissimo of Yoruba land and how he created a voice for the Yoruba race.
The Factional Oodua Peoples Congress coordinator is a peace evangelist, widely known for his opulence, splendor, sense of humility laced with his immeasurable heart of Gold. On the 1st of May, everyone came out in their large numbers to celebrate his big day at Martinos Hotel, Otunba Jobi fele way Ikeja; where he hosted friends and associate to his birthday soiree. The colourful event had in attendance top captains of industries, socialites, politicians, traditional rulers, musical artiste and other important personalities who were treated to an array of expensive high cost champagne and continental dishes. The celebrant, fitted in his white agbada and cap was seen bubbling of life with smile on his face, flanked by his beautiful wife, Erelu Mojisola Adams. Aare Gani thanked his creator for letting him witness yet another year on planet earth despite surviving the struggle when the agitation against the end of military dictatorship reached its crescendo.
Within few years, Otunba has successfully redefined and launched the Oodua Peoples Union (OPU), across the globe to further strengthen the bond between Yoruba’s in diaspora so as to have one voice. It was evident at the birthday soiree that Aare Gani is indeed a man of the people. The whole hall was filled up to the brim as people kept trooping in their large numbers to celebrate with the smooth talking man.
According to a close sources who hinted CITYSPY that; ”The 48th birthday celebration was planned within few weeks by few close friends and associate but his 50th birthday in 2020 will be a carnival of sort. Planning will kick start soon so as to make proper provision for the big day.”
