Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is a controversial person. Yes, his bag of controversy has never run dry. He loves being controversial at all time. During the general elections few months back, He was alleged to have moved 2 billion Van’s into his Bourdilon, Ikoyi home, which many said was disbursed to stakeholders of the Lagos political terrain.
When asked via a TV interview, the political titan argued that; the money that was moved into his premises was his hard earned money and He has the right to spend it any way He so wants to. The statement generated mixed reaction from the general public. Away from the election drama, Tinubu has helped President Buhari win his re-election and has also ensured Sanwoolu was elected as the Governor of Lagos state.
The political game is not over yet, the race for who occupies principal offices of Upper and lower National Assembly is on. Tinubu has stationed his boys and loyalist to scoop vital position for themself in the next dispensation, all for the race for who succeeds President Buhari in 2023.
The race and shopping for the next President after Buhari is building up. The Eastern part of Nigeria are clamouring to rule the country, by producing the next President, while some south west political bigshot argued that; power should return to the West since 2007.
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is indeed in the race to occupy the Aso villa as the President come 2023, as many southwest leaders had thrown their weight behind his ambition. Some we learnt, argued that; the ambition is dead on arrival, saying Tinubu should just retire and throw his weight behind a new vibrant politician. Some member we learnt told Asiwaju not to nurse such ambition because it might lead to the disunity of the All Progressive Congress (APC) before 2023.
According to insiders from Asiwaju’s camp, we learnt He is putting financial war chest and human resources together to achieve his long time ambition of ruling the country, which from all indications, is taking shape.
A close source to the Asiwaju’s Camp told CITYSPY that; Asiwaju is a calculative person. The handwriting is on the wall and from all the indications, He might likely contest for the Presidency and win due to his wealth of experience and leadership styles. “Asiwaju is shopping for a credible Northerner, who will be his vice. He is aware that the Southwest vote alone can’t win elections without the Northern populace. Asiwaju is considering Kebbi state Governor, Atiku Bagudu as a preferred running mate. If Aminu Tambuwal, Governor Of Sokoto was still in the APC, He might likely be his running mate. From the handwriting on the wall, Governor of Sokoto, Aminu Tambuwal might soon defect back to the APC. His chances is not clear being Asiwaju’s preferred running mate but trust me, Atiku Bagudu is a running mate to beat. His has no corrupt case and his current integrity looks like a factor that will work for him.”
