BAD MARKET: FOLASHADE FOLIVI IS A POLITICAL EXCESS LUGGAGE TO THE LAGOS APC
A lot of women who have accepted or had imposed upon them in girlhood, the old, conservative styles of careful modesty in speech, action and aplomb, with much understatement, have behind their masks an appalling and impregnable conceit of themselves; like overzealous Folashade Folivi, the head honcho of the Lagos Building Investment Company (LBIC), She is yet to get the memo.
Folashade, who heads the much-talked about LBIC, is wrought of such detestable narcissism. She blows her own trumpet and it is because she feels you are not fit to listen to the performance. Though the experienced chattered accountant beauty means many things to many people hence her portrayal in variety of favourable portraits depicts a lot about her.
On account of her enviable pedigree, social contacts in her accountancy, Economics and auditing field, she was appointed by his close alley, Gov Akinwunmi Ambode, thinking she would replicate her Midas touch in the accounting field to the upliftment of the LBIC to an enviable standard. Many pundits faulted Governor Ambode on his choice of appointing her (Folashade); stating she lacks the dexterity and mental capacity to lead the LBIC.
Many observers had thought the Economics graduate from Obafemi Awolowo Univeristy Ile-Ife, was going to shame her critics by carving a niche for herself, hitting a new mile stone; but alas, it grew from bad to worst. Folashade is alleged to have been power intoxicated like a drunken sailor. She was allegedly last year summoned by the Lagos State House of Assembly (LSHA), on account of some illegal demolition she carried out under her ministry without proper perusal from appropriate quarters.
She enjoys unsung popularity at the expense of the Lagos APC foothold and 2019 fortunes. LBIC is at the risk of loosing its CBN licence of operation due to her infarctions and arrogance. Folashade has often boasted in public that, she owns the government because of her bond with Governor Ambode.
According to reports, she is said to have used her incompetency and insubordination to indict the Lagos ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), as many pensioners whose house and shops were demolished in various low-cost estates are threatening to boycott the APC at the next general elections in 2019. A pensioner, who claimed anonymity told, CITYSPY that: ‘I wonder the kind of guts Folashade has. We have reported her severally to the House of Assembly members representing our constituency but nothing has been done as regards her case. She is just inflicting pains on us. The little we make is from the shops she demolished. Imagine, even if you want to demolish illegal structure, you should give proper notifications in due time so proper evacuation can be done. Folashade wants to be seen working, so she does things like the world under her feet. All I would say is that me personally and my other pensioners, have mapped out a plan to boycott the next elections by voting the APC out if proper measures is not taken to cut the wings of the power-drunk Folashade of a woman whose ego is becoming so alarming”.
