Double Blessing for Dancing Senator Ademola Adeleke

To say that Senator Ademola Adeleke, famously called the “Dancing Senator”, has been missing in action is simply stating the obvious. The Ede, Osun State-born former member of the Red Chamber was one of the comical figures of the 8th National Assembly. A bubbly personality who attained political leadership through his dancing skills would go down in history as Nigeria’s most entertaining politician.
He shot into prominence following the passing of his elder sibling, Senator Isiaka Adeleke, who was the first civilian governor of Osun State.

The younger Adeleke took maximum advantage of the lacuna created by the death of his late brother’s when he stepped into his big shoes like a veteran. But there’s a different approach to his own style of politics. His selling point wasn’t his track record. His magic is in his ability to entertain with his Michael Jackson-like dance steps. He indeed dazzled the entire country with his energetic dance steps.
The likeable politician won and he got the moniker ‘dancing senator’.

Barely two years into his first major political adventure, the ‘dancing senator’ took a shot at the Osun state gubernatorial. Maybe that was his albatross, as he learnt the hard way that politics goes beyond dancing; he was taught a bitter lesson at the pools that was inconclusive. He eventually lost out to his closest rival the incumbent Governor if Osun State Gboyega Oyetola at the rerun pool.

Since he lost out in the scheme of things politically, it seems the music has stopped playing for the bubbling politician after that failed governorship project. He has since disappeared from the social radar with his dancing shoes. Many if his admirers were raising several question if his whereabout as they have missed him in action.

What a good way to saunter back the social radar, the Dancing senator is indeed a proud father. His daughter Adenike Marlyn Adeleke made him a proud father after she graduated with a flying colour from the Oakwood University Alabama, Class of 2020, with a Bachelors degree in Nursing and Health Profession. Adeleke would have loved to attend the convocation ceremony ground to once again show his dancing steps but due to the current pandemic, the convocation was done online as he watched his daughter being conferred with the prestigious degree.

To add to his wealth of Joy, the senator also glides into the leagues of Sexagenerians on the 13th if May 2020 which makes it a double celebration for him. He celebrated his 60th birthday with no fanfare at his Atlanta; Georgia mansion in the United States of America. The Dancing Senator did not throw a loud Soiree as he only celebrated by having meals and drinks with his family. They also converged to pray and thank God for the gift of life. A source said; ” his 60th birthday is a milestone worth celebrating but we cant celebrate now due to the global pandemic. He is planning to throw an appreciation party if the world finally conquer the COVID-19 virus”.
