Agbanidokibubo Asenite Darego, widely known as Agbani Darego, a Nigeria Model, shot into limelite when providence smiled on her, as she places her fatherland on the world map after she was crowned Miss World in 2001, making her the first black African model to win the highly coveted crown.
The Abonnema, Rivers State-born beauty goddess, can aptly be described as one of the best things to have happened to Nigeria in the new millennium. Hers was a shared victory among her compatriots, especially because it revamped Nigeria’s image positivity at a time the country was battling with a dwindling image to the outside world.
Interestingly, 16 years after her big win, the 34-year-old Ex beauty queen has continued to stay on top in the modeling, entertainment and fashion world, respectively.
However, the graduate of Psychology from NewYork University has been unable to replicate this midas touch in her business frontier, as her AD Collection has not fared well. Some close ally linked the static growth of the business outfit to her marriage big boy Ishaya Danjuma earlier this year.
