EXCLUSIVE: The Real Truth Behind Dancer, Picture Kodak’s Electrocution Death

With the popular axiom that; ‘Death is the final destination for all man’ aptly captures that sad tale of talented River states born dancer, Love Divine with the sobriquet PICTURE KODAK, who died few days ago at Omole Phase 1, the studio/residence of popular ace cinematographer Clearance Peters.

There has been a lot of controversy trailing her sudden death. Many of her fans, the music and entertainment industry were thrown into disbelief in the cause of her sudden demise pointing to acute electrocution while charging her smart phone on set of a studio video shoot.

According to a close sources, who narrated what happened to CITYSPY based on Anonymity divulged that; Her death should have been averted if she has gotten a first aide medical attention. Apart from the fact that, she got burnt severely from the high voltage power supply from a Generator used for powering lighting, the poor medical system in the country contributed to her death. 

“She was onset of a studio video shoot. You are aware that the Government had declared a lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so getting a location outside to shooting was impossible, so the director opted to make an indoor video script for the artiste. The artiste is a well known artiste in Nigeria. I dont want to mention his name but I will give descriptions. Anybody reading can deduce who the person is. He was formerly in a music duo before he and his partner pulled out to try their solo career in music. He was formerly residing in omole phase 1 before moving down to stay on the island. Kodak was to dance in some scenes in the video, which she did with her energy along other dancers. She was the one who choreographed the dance steps. She also infused her creative prowess to make the video a success. The video was almost a wrap, remaining like 2 scenes to wrap up the shoot. The director had excused himself while his boys were getting set to shoot the last 2 scenes. On Kodak’s side, after her dance scene, she was sweating profusely and her iPhone had a low battery. She could not charge during the shoot so she had to wait till she was done with her scenes to charge. She said she needed to post some short clips and pictures on her social media handles. Everybody in the studio was tired but focused on the next scene as we could not wait for the shoot to end. Kodak got her charger and plugged the phone in a socket that has an high voltage from a generating power source, used for lighting on set. We just heard a sudden shout, most of us didn’t pay attention. We thought it was her normal stunt to catch peoples attention. So we ignored her not knowing she was already being electrocuted. Not until we saw smoke on her body most expecially on her upper chest, close to her boobs. We switched off the light from the source. Immediately almost everyone on set carried her and we rushed her to a nearby hospital in the estate. After several attempts to save her life, it proved abortive. The doctor said the burn was severe and it has affected her heart which led to her death.”

According to close friends of the deceased; who further divulged to CITYSPY that; Divine was a jolly good fellow who likes being around people. She has a down to earth personality and meeting her for the first time is like knowing her for years. ” Kodak is a very great personality. To confirm that, you will see the amount of people who showed their grief over her death. She had dreams. She shared with me her dream of having her own dance show on TV as well as a Dance Academy. She is a girl who loves her family and always come through for her friends. It’s just sad that we lost her untimely.” 

Another close friend to Kodak avered that; if the director, the artiste and the crew member had adhered strictly to the No gathering/lockdown order as adviced by the Lagos State Government and Federal Government, maybe Divine would still be alive by now.
