HOW SENATE MAJORITY LEADER AHMED LAWAN WAS HUMILIATED

Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan is a Yobe state born politician that was elected to the senate representing the good people of Yobe North constituency Yobe state. He is the current senate majority leader succeeding Senator Ali Ndume.


Despite the controversies trailing his emergence as the senate majority leader after Senator Ali Ndume was booted out, on Saturday, it was learnt that Ahmed Lawan took a flight from Abuja to Yobe, where he planned to drive to Gashua his home town through a neighbouring town called Nguru. The youths of Nguru on sighting his convoy entering their town, quickly put a call through to the youths in Gashua.
When Lawan and his convoy got to the border of Gashua few minutes on entering his home town, hundreds of angry protesting youths were gathered chanting Anti-Lawan songs. They stopped Lawan and his convoy from entering Gashua town.
The protesting youths spoke in displeasure that he is no longer wanted in the town that he should turn back and leave the community.


It was gathered from a source, that the ugly clampdown lasted for hours. Lawan and his security aides pleaded with the angry mob so as to allow them gain access into the town but all means to gain access proved abortive as the angry youths gave no room for Lawan to talk. The security operatives explained that it was the senate leader coming but they gave no listening ear. They said that the people of the community are ashamed of him for the politics being played at the red chambers.
When the fracas was getting to it’s crescendo, to avoid physical confrontation between the community people and his security agents Ahmed and his convoy turned back in disappointment and left for the city.
