Like the proverbial gold fish that has no hiding place in the sea, Daysman Oyakilome is not a fish but ironically fits into that perfect description. Whenever the C.E.O of Carel films and nephew to popular Cleric and Head Pastor of Christ Embassy Church, Pastor Chris Oyakilome saunters into any function, he is duly recognised and treated like a king. The public motivational speaker whose allure, gait and endearing presence commands respect for him, perhaps, maybe because he leverages ‘in the name of the father’ as he enjoys a cordial filial relationship with Pastor Chris Oyakilome.
Recently, in Lagos penultimate last month, Daysman was an invited guest at a youth event tagged: Powerball Soccer Tournament at the F.C.E Akoka, Yaba, on arrived the ambiance of the event centre with his intimidating military entourage, the whole premises went agog as all attention was shifted to him.
It was his turn to address the much elated youthful audience, the smooth talking young man swiftly grabbed the microphone, but the cheering crowd was overwhelmed with joy as they never stopped roaring in excitement, in other to catch their attention, Daysman played a fast one on the psyche of the audience, He pointed to a student, stating that the holy spirit ordered him to bless him with a cash token of forty thousand naira, immediately, the crowd went on absolute decorum, so he finally had the much attention he craved for, He further announced that he will be giving 10 people five thousand naira cash, He personally nominated them himself and told them to follow him to his car for their cash prizes.
Daysman a dandy whose love for luxury transcend the ordinary, might be trying to play a stunt, but, many believed that such token amount should not be a problem for the perceived not too-generous money bag to remit into the purse of the shortlisted audience.
According to sources close to the organizers, revealed to CITYSPY.NG, that, ‘Some shortlisted audience have been calling the organizers continuously, claiming that despite penning down their account numbers as requested by Daysman, they have not received the token he promised till date’. The close source further revealed that ‘They alleged the organizers of Powerball to have collected the cash on their behalf and syphoned it for their personal use’.
Sincerity and philanthropic deeds are endorsed by the bible, but if used as a mere show-off, its contradicting the wish of the holy book. What the young man used as a stunt, is beginning to bounce back on his image and credibility as many tagged him a mere attention seeker and insincere individual. Only time will tell if the self acclaimed ‘African youngest leading entrepreneur’ will live up to expectation and fulfil his gentleman promise.
