It was a remarkable moment as top dignitaries from the business, political and society radar stormed Governor Akeredolu’s Son’s traditional wedding held at the highbrow edifice of Landmark Events Centre, Lagos, on Saturday, January 6, 2018. The superlative wedding soiree, is tagged one of the memorable events in the the new year, as it gathered the nation’s political juggernauts from North to South under same roof. It was the traditional nuptial between Babajide Ayotola Akeredolu, the last son of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State and Mary Oghenetega Edwin from Delta State.
Amidst pomp and pageantry, both family, gave their cheerful blessings to the newly wedded couple. Among the dignitaries present at the venue of the high octane wedding, were the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, National Leader of the All Progressive Congress, Bola Tinubu, former interim national Chairman Of APC, Chief Bisi Akande, Minister of Labour and Productivity, Dr Chris Ngige, Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdufatai Ahmed, Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola.
Others present were: former Ekiti State Governor and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Segun Oni, the Chairman of APC in Ondo State, Engr Ade Adetimehin, Candidate of the AD in the last election in Ondo State, Olusola Oke, National Vice Chairman Southwest, Pius Akinyelure, and Ondo State Deputy Governor, Alfred Agboola Ajayi. As well as e
minent traditional rulers, such as Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo, Olugbo of Ugbo Kingdom, Oba Fredrick Akinruntan, Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom also attended the traditional wedding and wished the new couple happy married life.
The newly wedded couple wiggled their bodies to the rhythm and melody of the music supplied to entertain guests. The wedding reception never ran out of supply of continental and local dishes laced with the lavish supply of high cost wines and cognacs. Governor Akeredolu spared no cost to give his son a wedding fête that will never be forgotten in a hurry.
The groom’s father Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN fitted in his Owo traditional “Babariga” with a wine cap, accompanied by his wife, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, cheerfully moved round with joy in their heart to greet guests in the beautifully decorated auditorium.
