If Folounsho Folarin Coker, was given an opportunity to pen down an epistle on his most disturbing moment as public servant; then, Yesterday the 29th of November, was definitely not a pleasant one for the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC) Director General. For those who have come in contact with the generous philanthropist, would attest to the fact that He is a jolly good fellow, who loves those working around Him.
Folly is not new to the tourism terrain. The light skinned lanky big boy has served as a commissioner for culture and tourism, under Governor Akinwunmi Ambode in Lagos, before taking up his new appointment at the Ministry for Culture and Tourism.

Folly Coker as He is fondly called, is more of a polished diamond among the rough, tarnished czars of Nigeria’s tourism industry. This is why he was deemed without fault in the ongoing anti-corruption, incompetency and other allegations levelled against him by some unscrupulous elements who finds joy in tarnishing the excellent image he has built with sweat over the years.
It would be recalled that some staff of the Nigerian development tourism board, took to the office complex in Abuja, yesterday the 29th of November, to stage a peaceful protest with placards displaying different inscriptions seeking the immediate removal of the former Managing Director of Lagos Number Plate Authority.
CITYSPY reached out to a staff in the ministry of culture and tourism, who claimed anonymity, but divulged that; ”It’s not the fault of the DG, it’s the fault of the Federal Government. If the Federal Government don’t disburse money to the ministry, definitely the ministry can’t function properly. I can tell you that sometimes, Mr Folly Coker uses his own personal funds to run the ministry, to tell you how much passion he has to resuscitate the dwindling tourism sector. As for the staffs, how can you spend the money you are not given??. Nobody gives what He or She does not have. I just wonder how they want the man to perform magic in less than 8 month in office. Not many are aware that He is not even the head of the ministry, He has a boss He reports to which is the Honourable Minister for Culture, Arts and Tourism, Mr Lai Mohammed”.
CITYSPY also gathered from a reliable source that the Minister for Culture and Tourism, Mr Lai Mohammed, would issue a press statement after the holiday on Monday to address the lingering issues.
