Cosmopolitan Businessman and Boss of Cubana Groups; Obi Iyiegbu, known as ‘Obi Cubana’ on the socia radar, loves to live a good life. He heads one of the biggest Night club and hospitality chain in Nigeria, with branches in Lagos, Abuja, Owerri, and other part of the country. Apart from working round the clock to create a fun filled atmosphere for his customers, He loves his wines exotic, His meals local and continental and his automobile vintage. The dark skinned husky voiced serial entrepreneur, can fun from the southern coast of Bahamas to the Caribbean. Despite his busy business schedules and travel itinerary, he never jokes with his family.
Obi changed the narrative in the Night life business in Lagos by shattered the stereotype, capitalising on the lapses of his competitors in less than 2 years of existence in Lagos. For years, Ikeja, Yaba, Surulere and Maryland dominated Night life location in Lagos. For over a decade now, it has moved to the island. With his heaven-on-earth architectural wonderment Cubana edifice, located in Ikeja GRA, the lost glory of Night life returned back to the mainland where it all started from.
Recently, controversy trailed Obi and one of his staffs, Pascal Okechukwu known as Cubana Chief Priest; who doubles as a brand influencer for the club imprint over a rift between the duo which led to them parting ways as business associates. The reason for their split was made private as Obi choose not to address the issue. It came to the media attention as they both unfollowed eachother on social media. Sources said; Obi was said to have reprimanded Pascal who allegedly battered a lady at one of their events. “Obi is a man of peace. He is a very sensitive person and kind person. He instructed Pascal to apologise to the lady that claimed she was battered by Chief Priest, so things can be settled amicably. Pascal refused bluntly. It’s not the first time he is caught in the web of such insubordination.”
Some close mutual friends of the duo was said to have waded in by resolving it amicably, but Cubana Chief Priest went on his social media page saying he has served his master and needed his freedom which anyone is not supposed to be angry with. He further announced that he would be given his full attention to De Angel NightClub, located in Owerri, Imo State, jointly operated with his wife. “After Obi saw his moves, like an elder brother, he wished Cubana Chief Priest well in the new direction. Many people don’t know Obi is a peace loving man. Funny enough, Obi will still do business with him to tell you how liberal and progressive minded he is.” A source said. At Cubana Lagos just concluded Luxury Drive Fest concert, held at Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos, Obi was in high spirit. He was seen through out the event laughing and enjoying himself along side top dignitaries that were present.
