loosing their weight in the beer market, as their product that currently the
favourites of many beer consumers is under fire after been hit by dwindling and fluctuating scarcity in the market.

marketers, Retail Marketers and Beer Parlours has ever since been complained bitterly
over the massive scarcity of the product across the country, and how it’s
affecting their business as the inconsistency of the product makes consumers with no
choice now turn to 33’Lager Beer, Goldberg, Harp, and other related brands.

affecting his business He said, ‘Sincerely, I think the makers of the brand International Breweries are
not serious. They have to compete with Nigeria Breweries, Guinniess, and Consolidated Breweries whom are
pushing over 10 brands and you have the opportunity of a brand that is doing
well in the market and you can’t take leverage on that to take over the market?. When you are
on top of your game, all you need is to satisfy your numerous customers with the
availability of the brand each time it’s requested for. This makes the customers
stay glued to your brand not consuming this today and you get here they say we don’t
have trophy, then they switch to 33 lager beer. It kills the business naturally and it
gives the customer other options to abandon your brand. But for me personally,
in the business perspective, I will not invest in purchasing of the brand like I used to. The
reason is that I can’t buy large amount of crates today, the following week when
my customers request for it I don’t have it in stock. If we place order from
the company some times it takes 3 weeks or a months before we are being
supplied. I am tired of that. I think they should be consistent unless they
will loose the market to those bad heads who adulterate brands and sell it
which might cause them to loose their power on the current market. It’s cause of
their inability to satisfy their customers that’s what makes fake beer saturate
the market’.
A frequent consumer Mr Taiwo Agunbiade, also laments as he has to switch over the few weeks to other brands as his local joint complains of not having his favourite Trophy Beer in stock He said, ‘I am a very good consumer of Trophy Beer. I like it because the sugar content is minimal and anytime I close from work, I just stop over here to take few bottles, before going home. Each time I ask for the brand, I feel bad when I hear ‘We don’t have’ and I ask why? they will say ‘it’s scarce’. I was angry, I thought it was this joint that refuses to order for it, not until I visited other joints, and I found out that’s the scarcity is everywhere. Now I have switched to what they always have in stock which is either 33 Lager Beer or Goldberg depending on my mood. I am gradually getting used to drinking without Trophy’.
